I have been overwhelmed by the way college and high school students have embraced Columbine. To support students and the profs/teachers adding Columbine to their courses, we have:
The instructor guide is designed for college or high school courses. It is applicable to English/Literature, Creative Writing, Psychology, Crimonology, (high school) Social Studies and Journalism,
Media Studies, Contemporary History, Political Science, Sociology and Religious Studies. We have included special-emphasis areas for literature and creative writing.
Other emphasis-sections will be added soon.
The guide includes:
– Topics
– Discussion/Test Questions
– Assignments
– Further Reading
– Background Material (author bio, book summary & links to reviews, bibliography, etc.)
We are eager to improve the guide, so please email suggestions, critiques, and materials you have used in your courses (dave@davecullen.com).
Columbine was an ALA Alex finalist and named Top Education Book of 2009 by the American School Board Journal.
Short videos
are now available for classroom discussion, or to give students more insights to pursue research papers, essays, etc.

The Columbine Guide navigates the web of myths, legitimate evidence, and contradictory coverage of the Columbine shooting.
It includes a vast array of evidence: photos, diagrams, video, police reports, witness testimony, scans of Dylan Klebold & Eric Harris' journals, official government reports, documents and transcribed passages from The Basement Tapes.
The Guide also includes resources for victims, including Dr. Ochberg's PTSD 101. I will continue to add material, including links to all the victims, and analysis of the media portrayls.

Jack Nicholson hollering 'You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!'
Read this quietly powerful account of Columbine
and find out if you can." – Ron Rosenbaum Author of Explaining Hitler
